薛觉先，是粤剧五大流派中年纪最轻的“薛派”创始人，也是首位拍摄电影的粤剧演员，对粤剧和电影都有杰出贡献。他借鉴京剧婉转和谐的腔调，吸收江浙小曲及时代流行曲轻快流畅的长处，创造出一种字正腔圆、韵味浓郁、节奏感强、善于表情达意的“薛腔”。
薛觉先祖籍顺德龙江，在浓厚的粤剧艺术氛围下成长，从小热爱戏剧。而在他逝世63年后的今天，他的故乡为了延续“薛派”艺术瑰宝，培养青少年对粤剧的兴趣，在龙江薛觉先戏曲活动中心成立了薛派粤剧艺术传承培训基地，特别邀请专业老师前来执教，传承“薛派”艺术。
The charm of “Xue School” Cantonese opera!
Xue Juexian is the youngest founder of the “Xue School” among the five schools of Cantonese opera. He is the first Cantonese opera actor who also shot a film. Xue made outstanding contributions to both Cantonese opera and films. He drew lessons from the graceful and harmonious tone of Beijing Opera, absorbed the strengths of Jiangsu and Zhejiang ditties and popular songs, and finally created a “Xue Tune” that is full of words, rich in charm, strong in rhythm, and good at expressing feelings.
Xue’s ancestors came from Longjiang, Shunde. He grew up in the strong artistic atmosphere of Cantonese opera and fell in love with opera since childhood.
Today, 63 years after his death, to continue the artistic treasure of “Xue School” and cultivate young people’s interest in Cantonese opera, in his hometown, a training base for Xue School Cantonese Opera art inheritance was set up in Xue Juexian Opera Activity Center, especially inviting professional teachers to teach and inherit the art of “Xue School”.
